The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two young men for allegedly stealing a generator battery from the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) Cathedral, located in Jimeta, Yola.
The suspects, identified as 20-year-old Dad Yusuf and 17-year-old Gibson Husseini, were apprehended by officers of the State Intelligence Department on Saturday, 28th June 2025.
According to police reports, the duo, who reside in the Upper Luggere area of Jimeta in Yola North Local Government Area, have confessed to stealing a 100Ah Mikano generator battery from the church premises during the night of 23rd June.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sulaiman Nguroje, confirmed the arrest, adding that investigations are ongoing to uncover possible accomplices and recover additional stolen property.
“The suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation,” Nguroje stated.
