Phil Obanor, a seasoned broadcaster and immediate past Zonal Director of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Benin Network Centre, has passed away at the age of 58.
Obanor, who was renowned for her distinguished career in broadcasting, tragically lost her life in a fatal car accident on the Lokoja-Benin-Auchi road. The accident occurred earlier this week, sending shockwaves through the media community and the many viewers who had come to admire her work over the years.
Having retired from NTA in November 2024, Obanor’s death marks the end of an era for the Benin Network Centre, where she had made significant contributions to the development of the station.
