A suspected kidnapper has been apprehended in Ikefi, a community within Igalamela-Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi State, following a swift intervention by local vigilantes.

In a statement released on Saturday by S.O. Saka, the Head of ICT/Media for the Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS), it was revealed that the suspect, identified as Abdullahi Abubakar, was arrested on Friday evening around 6pm. Abubakar, who was reportedly carrying a wooden toy gun, was seized by the Igalamela Command of the KSVS.

The area has recently been plagued by the activities of suspected kidnappers, who have been harassing farmers and forcing them off their land in a bid to facilitate abductions. The KSVS credited the quick and decisive action of their operatives for preventing a potential kidnapping incident.
