The vital role of technical and vocational education in addressing Nigeria’s unemployment crisis and promoting sustainable growth was brought into the spotlight this week.
The call came from Dr. Edosa Richard, the Member representing Oredo West constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, as he chaired the Public Lecture and Award Ceremony of the Auchi Polytechnic Alumni Association (APAA), Benin Chapter.
The event, themed “Revitalising Polytechnic Education for National Development and Global Impact,” sparked robust discussions on the nation’s future. Dr. Richard emphasized that strengthening polytechnic education is crucial for driving innovation, creating jobs, and building a resilient economy.
“The contributions here have reaffirmed a powerful truth: technical and vocational education is not a secondary path, but a critical engine for our national progress,” Dr. Richard stated.
