The security post at the private residence of the former Edo State Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, has been demolished.
According to information available to Uptown Press, the demolision exercise was carried out without prior notification by a team from the Government House and Edo Ministry of Roads and Bridges.
This is coming shortly after he was removed from office, and the security post, which was always very busy, became deserted.
The demolition team, backed by fully-armed policemen and operatives of Edo Security Network, pulled down the structures with a bulldozer without resistance.
When Uptown Press visited the scene of the demolition, Shaibu’s neighbours and passersby, who identified the demolition team members as being from the Government House, Benin, were not happy with the exercise.
Contacted, Shaibu’s Chief Press Secretary declined to speak on the matter.
