Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has gained attention for exhuming his mother’s body for reburial.
In a viral video that has been circulating on social media, he explained that he had to make this difficult decision because the land where his mother was initially buried had been sold.
According to reports, Portable’s mother had been buried in a cemetery in Lagos, but due to the sale of the land, he was forced to move her remains to a new burial site. In the video, the singer could be seen weeping as he expressed his sadness and the pain he felt about the situation.
This controversy has sparked a lot of reactions from fans and Nigerians online, with many people sympathizing with Portable and expressing their own experiences with similar situations. Losing a loved one is already a difficult experience, and having to exhume their remains for reburial adds an extra layer of emotional turmoil.
He said, “I lost my mother at the age of 13. I exhumed her body and reburied her because they sold the land where she was initially buried.”
He revealed that he wants to build a mansion at the place where he reburied his mother.
