The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has arrived in Edo State, where he was received by Governor Monday Okpebholo and former Edo governor, Adams Oshiomhole.

Wike is in Benin City at the invitation of the state government to officially hand over 54 construction equipment to the 18 local government areas.

The equipment, which includes graders, excavators, rollers and other heavy-duty machines, is expected to boost road construction, rural access, drainage rehabilitation and other community-driven infrastructure projects across the state.

The intervention is seen as a major push to strengthen grassroots development, with local councils now better equipped to execute critical public works without delay.
