Zenith Bank Plc on Saturday rolled out the drums in Lagos to celebrate its 35th anniversary, honouring pioneer customers and long-serving staff who have been central to its success story.
The ceremony, which drew top business leaders, traditional rulers and political figures, highlighted the bank’s evolution from a modest start in May 1990 to one of Africa’s most formidable financial institutions.
Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Adaora Umeoji, hailed the trust of customers and the loyalty of staff as the backbone of Zenith’s growth.
“Our journey has been defined by innovation, resilience and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Today, we celebrate not just our achievements but the people who made them possible,” she said.
Zenith’s founder and chairman, Mr Jim Ovia, commended the institution’s ability to sustain relevance and impact in a dynamic banking landscape.
The high-profile event was attended by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote, and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, among others. Guests were treated to awards, keynote addresses and live performances in what was described as a fitting tribute to three and a half decades of excellence.
