Nigerian music legend 2Baba Idibia was reportedly arrested by UK police following a heated altercation with his wife, Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, according to new video evidence released by blogger and social commentator Tosin Silverdam. Uptown Press can report.
Silverdam, who had previously alleged that the superstar was taken into police custody in London last month, published the footage on Monday, 1 December, reigniting public debate over the couple’s turbulent relationship. The clip, shared on Instagram, appears to show the moment officers intervened after being called to the scene.
The blogger also released a separate recording of the pair at what he claimed was Gatwick Airport, where they were seen exchanging tense words. In the video, Natasha is heard making a call requesting police assistance, moments after an argument allegedly sparked by her displeasure at the attention her husband was receiving from fans.
Sources told Uptown Press Nigeria that the confrontation escalated when 2Baba reportedly raised his voice, prompting Natasha to alert authorities. Officers are said to have taken the singer in for questioning, causing him to miss a scheduled performance.
The release of the footage has fuelled fresh online debate about the marriage, which has frequently been in the public eye since the couple wed. Neither 2Baba nor Natasha has issued a formal statement addressing the latest claims.
As the videos continue to circulate, fans and commentators alike are calling for clarity from both parties on the events that led to the alleged airport altercation and subsequent police involvement.
