Prophet Okose, a well-known Nigerian clergyman, has sparked controversy with his recent statement that sex before marriage is not a sin.
The former singer, who has now turned to the ministry, took to social media to express his views on the matter, arguing that the prohibition of premarital sex was not a law given by God, but rather a construct of man.
In a passionate post, Prophet Okose stood his ground, asserting, “Abuse me or call me fake prophet I stand my ground to say!! Sex before marriage is not a sin. God never gave that law, man did. Study your Bible well.” He went on to emphasize that many beliefs and practices among believers were influenced by the suggestions of man rather than God’s direct commandments.
The controversial post also addressed the challenges of maintaining a relationship without intimacy, stating, “There is no way two persons who love themselves can be in a relationship without being intimate.”
The prophet questioned the feasibility of deeply loving someone and abstaining from physical intimacy, highlighting the potential consequences of such abstinence.
Prophet Okose’s bold statements have ignited a heated debate within the religious community, with some expressing support for his unorthodox views, while others have condemned his remarks as misguided and inappropriate.

WE LIVE IN A GENERATION OF RELIGIOUS CONFUSED LEADER WHO HAS TRANSFERRED THEIR CONFUSION TO THE CONGREGATION AND NOW WE HAVE BUNCH OF CONFUSED PEOPLE WHO THINK AS THEIR LEADER THINKS.
TELL ME HOW DO YOU LOVE SOMEONE DEEPLY BOTH OF YOU HAVE SERIOUS AFFECTION FOR EACH OTHER AND YOUR TELLING ME SEX WILL NOT BE INVOLVED.
DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE WHO HAS SAID NO SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE AND STILL END UP MARRYING SATAN SON AS A HUSBAND.
