The Edo State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare and security of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state, as the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream I corps members were officially sworn in at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Okada.
The assurance was given by the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Charity Amayaenvbo, who represented Governor Monday Okpebholo at the ceremony. He told the newly deployed corps members that their safety and wellbeing remained a top priority of the state government.
Hon. Amayaenvbo noted that the corps members were warmly received on arrival by the chairman of the host local government area, NYSC officials and other key stakeholders, whose collaboration, he said, has continued to ensure the smooth conduct of the orientation exercise.
Speaking on behalf of the governor, the commissioner pledged that the Okpebholo administration would continue to improve the orientation camp environment and provide sustained support to corps members throughout their service year.
He described Edo State as a land of peace, opportunity and warm hospitality, urging the corps members to embrace the state and make meaningful contributions through community development projects, skills transfer and active participation in nation-building.
The swearing-in ceremony formally marked the commencement of the orientation programme for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream I corps members, who are expected to undergo a period of physical training, skills acquisition and civic education before their eventual deployment to places of primary assignment across Edo State.
