The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Sokoto State Chapter, has categorically dismissed claims attributed to Senator Abu Gada that he has exited the party, describing the assertion as false, misleading, and without any factual basis.
In a press release dated January 26, 2026, and signed by the ADC Sokoto State Chairman, Alhaji Isyaku Bello Kheegan, the party stated that Senator Abu Gada has never been a registered member of the ADC at any level—national, state, or ward.
According to the statement, checks of the party’s official membership registers revealed that Senator Abu Gada neither completed nor appeared in any ADC registration records, making any claim of his “exit” from the party illogical and contradictory.
The ADC also rejected attempts to link the alleged development to Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, clarifying that Tambuwal is not a member of the ADC but a senior figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a known coalition leader. The party stressed that Tambuwal holds no position within the ADC and has no influence over its internal affairs or decision-making processes.
Describing the claims as an example of careless political communication, the ADC warned that such statements could confuse the public, distort political realities, and undermine responsible political discourse.
The party urged political actors, especially those who have held public office, to ensure their statements are accurate, factual, and verifiable.
The ADC reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, internal democracy, and people-oriented governance, adding that it remains focused on building a credible political platform anchored on integrity and inclusiveness.
It also called on the media and the general public to seek clarification from official party sources on matters relating to membership and internal affairs.
The party emphasized that it will not be distracted by false claims or misrepresentations and will continue to engage Nigerians constructively on issues of economic development, security, good governance, and democratic accountability
