Gov Okpebholo inaugurates reconstructed Auchi College

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has inaugurated projects at the reconstructed Auchi College with a promise to deploy more teachers to the school.

The governor stated this during the commissioning of the reconstructed and Renovated Auchi College by Mr Peter Omoh Dunia.

“This project stands as a shining example of unity, commitment, and love for community. What we are witnessing here today is more than the rebuilding of structures;

“It is the restoration of hope, the revival of legacy, and a bold investment in the future of our children,” Okpebholo said.

The governor commended the Association of Great Achievers, Class of 91, and the Chief Host of this event, Mr. Peter Omoh Dunia for there remarkable initiative.

He however, urged the students and the management of the school to take proper care of the facilities.

“Your sacrifice, generosity, and dedication have not only rebuilt a school but have also renewed hopes and created opportunities for generations yet unborn.

“May Almighty God bless you richly for this noble act.Your actions have once again shown that when people come together with a shared vision, great things happen.

” This is the spirit we must continue to promote across Edo State. Let me also use this opportunity to call on other former student groups and well-meaning individuals to emulate this worthy example.

“Government cannot do it alone. Sustainable development requires partnership, collective responsibility, and a genuine commitment to the common good. To the students of Auchi College, this is your opportunity. This school has been rebuilt for you, make the most of it.

” Study hard, remain disciplined, and strive for excellence. To the school authorities, I urge you to maintain these facilities and ensure they are put to proper use. Together, we are building not just schools, but the future of Edo State. It is my honour to officially commission the reconstructed Auchi College.God bless the Association of Great Achievers Class of 91.God bless Edo State” he said.

The initiator, Mr Peter Dunia said the reconstruction and renovation of the college is to give back to his Alma mater.

He said the idea represents remembrance, responsibility and gratitude to the school that nurtured him.

Dunia said his intention to reconstruction of the college is not to replace government, but to support and strengthen it.

“This school gave me more than education. It gave me discipline. When I reflect on the journey, I realise that no matter how far life takes us. We can never truly leave the place that shaped our foundation. This school helped shape mine and that is why to day mean so much to me.

“My payer is that this school will stand for many decades as a place where knowledge is gained, character is formed and dreams begin to take shape,” Dunia said.

The President, Association of Great Achievers, Class of 91, Auchi College, Prince Omokhigho Momoh said the projects commissioned today is the first phase.

” In this first phase, the following projects have been executed. A modern ICT/CBT centre, well equipped laboratory for physics, chemistry and biology and a sport complex.

“Others includes; solar powered borehole, perimeter fencing, standard synthetic football field and modern gate house) security post amongst others,”he said.

Momoh thanked the the initiator Mr Dunia, members of the achievers class of 91 and other old students association of the college for their contributions towards the reconstruction of the school.

“We are experiencing a rebirth, an opportunity to give the next generation of Auchi College students a better experience than ours.

“What we see here today is only possible by the uncommon generosity of Mr Peter Omoh Dunia along side his classmates of Auchi college class of 91, ” he said.

He, however, requested the deployment of highly qualified teachers to complement the world class infrastructure already established.
“We seek support for the expansion into phase two of the school which will encompass further transformative projects, ” Momoh said.

Earlier, the principal of the college, Mrs Adams Momoh thanked initiator and the class of 91 for the project.

“I see this structure not merely as walls and roofs but as a living ecosystem of opportunity. With the reconstruction of the school, young minds will be challenged, character will be molded and dreams will begin to take form.

“To the old students of 1991 set and to everyone in who contributed to this project.

” You have invested in human capital. You have strengthened the foundation upon which future leaders, thinkers and nation builders will stand,” she said.
