APC Primary: Richard Edosa Clinches Oredo West Ticket Amid Massive Endorsement

Dr. Richard Edosa has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Oredo West Constituency ahead of the 2027 Edo State House of Assembly election following a massive endorsement by party members during Wednesday’s primary election.

Party faithful reportedly turned out in large numbers to reaffirm Edosa’s candidature for a second term, citing his performance and developmental projects across the constituency as reasons for their overwhelming support.

Uptown Press reports that, members of the party said the lawmaker had demonstrated quality leadership through visible projects and impactful representation, insisting that he deserved another opportunity to continue his work at the State Assembly.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Paul Ohonbamu, who supervised the exercise, officially declared Edosa winner of the primary election after the collation of results.

Speaking on the outcome of the exercise, former National Deputy Treasurer of the APC, Omorede Osifo, described the primary election as peaceful, free and fair.

She noted that the massive turnout reflected the satisfaction of party members with Edosa’s first-term performance as well as the policies of Governor Monday Okpebholo.

“The people are happy with what he has done in his first tenure and what Governor Okpebholo is doing. That is the reason for the overwhelming crowd that came out to endorse Richard Edosa for second term,” she said.

Reacting after his emergence, Edosa expressed gratitude to party members and residents of Oredo West for the confidence reposed in him.

“I am particularly elated today that my constituents and APC members unanimously agreed that I should continue to represent them in the Edo State House of Assembly,” he said.

“Today, I have been declared as the candidate of the party for the 2027 general election. This is victory for Oredo, victory for Edo State,” the lawmaker added.
