Kebbi Hisbah Raids Hotel, Arrests 25 Over Alleged Immoral Activities

Operatives of the Kebbi State Hisbah Board have arrested 25 youths during a raid on a hotel in Argungu over alleged involvement in immoral activities.

The operation, carried out by the board under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, took place on July 3 as part of an intensified campaign against social vices in the state.

Confirming the development in a statement issued on Saturday, the Director of Shariah of the Kebbi Hisbah Board, Sirajo Kamba, said the raid led to the arrest of 12 males and 13 females.

“On July 3, the Kebbi Hisbah Board carried out a raid at a hotel in Argungu and successfully apprehended 25 suspects allegedly involved in immoral activities,” Kamba said.

He explained that the operation forms part of the board’s ongoing efforts to uphold moral values, curb social vices and maintain peace and decency across Kebbi State.

According to him, the suspects will undergo a thorough investigation in line with the provisions of the law, while anyone found culpable will be prosecuted through the appropriate legal process.

The Hisbah Board has continued to intensify enforcement operations across the state as part of its mandate to promote compliance with moral and religious standards under the state’s legal framework.
