Music promoter Sam Larry has been hospitalised following a ghastly road accident along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, which claimed the life of his bouncer.
The crash reportedly occurred on Saturday morning, leaving Sam Larry and his driver with injuries. Both were rushed to a hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
The deceased bouncer was confirmed to have died at the scene of the accident.
Sam Larry was among the individuals whose names surfaced in the public outcry that followed the death of singer Mohbad in 2023, after viral videos showed him confronting and allegedly harassing the late artiste. The videos fuelled widespread speculation and led to police investigations into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.
However, after months of investigation, legal authorities cleared Sam Larry of any criminal involvement in the singer’s demise.
A Lagos State Magistrate Court discharged him, alongside singer Naira Marley and Primeboy, after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) found no evidence linking them to Mohbad’s death. Instead, the DPP recommended the prosecution of the nurse who treated the late singer and another associate over allegations bordering on negligence.
The latest accident has since generated fresh reactions on social media, with many expressing condolences over the death of the bouncer while wishing Sam Larry and his driver a speedy recovery.
