The allegations were made by a Facebook user, Comrade Israel Joe, who claimed to have intervened after the woman allegedly became suicidal as a result of the incident.

The activist further alleged that following a marital disagreement and the officer’s suspicion that another man was communicating with his wife, he confiscated her mobile phone and began distributing dozens of her intimate videos and photographs to her relatives, former school WhatsApp groups and other contacts without her consent.

He claimed that more than 50 intimate videos had already been circulated, leaving the woman emotionally traumatised and forcing her to seek refuge at her parents’ home.

The post also alleged that when the woman later returned to meet her husband in an attempt to resolve their differences, she was physically assaulted and sexually assaulted after refusing his demands. These allegations have not been independently verified.
