EBS Boosts Broadcast Coverage as Okpebholo Delivers New State-of-the-Art TV Transmitter

The Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) has significantly upgraded its television transmission capacity following the procurement and installation of a brand-new terrestrial transmitter by the Edo State Government, a move expected to deliver stronger signals and uninterrupted broadcasting across the state.

The milestone project was facilitated by Governor Monday Okpebholo, who approved the acquisition of the modern transmitter as part of efforts to strengthen public broadcasting and improve access to information for residents.

According to the management of EBS, the newly installed transmitter is equipped with an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and other critical components designed to ensure continuous transmission and minimise service disruptions.

Following the successful installation by a team of internal and external engineers, EBS Television is now broadcasting on Channel 45 UHF, offering viewers improved signal coverage, enhanced picture quality and clearer audio.

The station has urged viewers using terrestrial television to rescan their decoders and television sets to access the upgraded signal on Channel 45 UHF.

Beyond terrestrial broadcasting, EBS said its programmes are now accessible across multiple platforms, including GOtv Channel 141, StarTimes Channel 113, the Free TV App, its official website and social media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, Snapchat and TikTok*under the handle ebsbenin.

As part of its post-installation assessment, the station appealed to viewers to provide feedback on signal reception from their locations to enable engineers fine-tune coverage across Edo State.

The management commended Governor Okpebholo for what it described as a strategic investment in the state’s broadcasting infrastructure, saying the project reflects the administration’s commitment to modernising public communication and ensuring residents receive timely and reliable information.
