The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Patrick Daaor, has stressed the importance of experience and professional guidance in strengthening policing, saying the wealth of knowledge possessed by seasoned and retired senior officers remains invaluable to effective law enforcement.
Daaor stated this on Monday, September 7, 2026, during a courtesy and familiarisation visit to His Excellency, Dr. Prince Oyakhire, PhD, OON, MNI, NPM, PSC(+), AIG (Rtd.), a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police and former Military Administrator of Oyo and Taraba States.
The Commissioner, who visited Dr. Oyakhire and his wife, received advice and insights on effective leadership, sound administration and strategic policing during the engagement.
Daaor expressed appreciation to the retired senior police officer for the warm reception and the wealth of knowledge, experience and counsel shared with him.
He said the guidance of seasoned professionals and retired senior officers would remain critical to promoting effective policing, strengthening institutional capacity and improving public safety.
The Commissioner noted that continued engagement with experienced stakeholders would help enhance leadership and administration within the police force while contributing to the collective efforts to make Edo State safer and more secure.
The visit also underscored Daaor’s commitment to maintaining strategic relationships with respected stakeholders and retired senior officers whose experience, he said, could continue to contribute meaningfully to effective policing in Edo State.
