The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Patrick Daaor, has honoured the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Sir (Dr.) Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, CFR, on his 92nd birthday, describing the respected elder statesman as a key stakeholder in promoting peace and unity.
Daaor paid a courtesy visit to the Esama at his residence on Monday, September 7, 2026, as part of activities marking the milestone birthday.
During the visit, the Commissioner felicitated with Chief Igbinedion and acknowledged the important role played by critical stakeholders in fostering unity, peaceful coexistence and effective community engagement.
Daaor said strong collaboration between the police and respected community leaders remained essential to maintaining public safety and security across the state.
He wished the Esama continued good health, strength and wisdom, while assuring him that the Edo State Police Command would sustain close engagement with relevant stakeholders to ensure a safer and more secure environment for residents.
The visit came as the Esama of Benin Kingdom marked his 92nd birthday, attracting goodwill and felicitations from across Edo State.
