The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has commended the Chinese Consulate in Lagos for strengthening friendship and understanding between Nigeria and China.
Sanwo-Olu spoke at the Chinese National Day Reception held in Lagos to mark the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and 55 years of diplomatic relations between China and Nigeria.
The Lagos First Lady described the relationship between both countries as an enduring partnership, stressing the need for collaborations that create opportunities for women and young people.
She also highlighted the importance of cultural exchange, education and skills development in deepening people-to-people relations between Nigeria and China.
Sanwo-Olu praised the Chinese diplomatic community for its efforts to foster stronger ties between both nations and expressed optimism that the relationship would continue to deliver opportunities for citizens of both countries.
She congratulated the Government and people of China on the anniversary, wishing the country continued prosperity and progress while calling for stronger Nigeria-China relations.
