Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is scheduled to visit Edo State on October 15 as part of her ongoing engagements focused on women, children and vulnerable Nigerians.

The proposed visit is expected to place particular emphasis on women’s empowerment, education, healthcare and social welfare initiatives, with programmes under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) expected to feature prominently.

Senator Tinubu, who is the National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative, has overseen interventions targeting vulnerable Nigerians, including women, children, youths and other disadvantaged groups.

The Edo State Government has commenced preparations ahead of the visit, which is expected to provide an opportunity for discussions around collaboration on programmes designed to improve the welfare and economic opportunities of women and other vulnerable residents.

The First Lady has previously been represented at programmes in Edo, including a 2025 women-focused empowerment event in Benin City, where she advocated greater economic empowerment and participation of women in governance.

Her planned October engagement would mark another opportunity for the Renewed Hope Initiative to deepen its interventions in the state.

Specific venues, programme schedules and other details of the visit are expected to be released by the relevant authorities ahead of the October 15 engagement.
