No fewer than 1,220 teachers disengaged by the Kwara State Government in 2019 have appealed to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to reconsider their plight and reinstate them.
The affected teachers, operating under the aegis of the Sunset Teachers, made the appeal at a news conference in Ilorin on Saturday.
The group’s Deputy Coordinator, Wasiu Yunusa, urged the state government to revisit their disengagement and give the affected teachers another opportunity to return to the classroom.
The appeal comes seven years after the teachers were disengaged, with the group seeking government intervention to resolve their prolonged employment crisis.
