Investment Firm Morgan Stanley has tipped Tesla CEO Elon Musk to become the world’s first trillionaire.

However, the wealth is not expected to come from his electric car company as most people expect but from SpaceX.

This is in spite of the fact that SpaceX is worth only a fraction of the value of Tesla Inc.

According to The Guardian, Tesla is worth $850 billion and SpaceX is valued at only $100 billion less than 8 times that.

Analysts at Morgan Stanley expect the billionaire to make much more money from his fledgling space exploration business SpaceX in the long run.

Analyst Adam Jones stated that SpaceX reusable rockets had the potential to transform expectations in the space industry.

He estimates that the privately-held SpaceX could be worth $200bn with the potential to rise even higher if it explores other industries.

At the moment, Elon Musk is the richest man in the world with a net worth of $242 billion, according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

The South African-born engineer recently surpassed rival Jeff Bezos who is worth $197 billion and seized the opportunity to shade the Amazon founder.
