The authorities at Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, have reportedly issued a query to Dr. Omoregie Nosa, the Acting Head of Department of Accounting, over allegations of massive certificate and transcript racketeering at the institution.
According to reports, Dr. Omoregie has been accused of running a cybercafé dedicated to the illegal issuance of fake certificates and transcripts of the university. The query was reportedly issued following a report by the Directorate of State Security (DSS) that the cybercafé owned by the lecturer was engaged in the production of fake certificates and transcripts.
The university authorities have accused the Acting HoD of gross misconduct, insubordination, and lack of respect for constituted authority.
Dr. Omoregie has been given 48 hours to respond to the query. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has also accused the embattled teacher of extortion, unauthorized collections of money, and other financial improprieties.
