Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has promised to accelerate development across the State in his second term, declaring that Osun is “on the march again” towards becoming an industrial state and investment destination.
Adeleke made the pledge on Sunday in his acceptance speech shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The governor, who attributed his victory to the people’s support for democracy, said his administration would build on the achievements of his first term under his new Five-Point Agenda.
He also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as strong support for a free and fair election, while reaffirming his endorsement of the President for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
“Mr. President, it is time for you to sit, and I hereby reaffirm my earlier endorsement of him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election,” Adeleke said.
The governor expressed appreciation to Nigerians at home and abroad, as well as the media, for supporting democracy and providing extensive coverage of the election.
He said the election had further strengthened his faith in democratic governance, adding that there was “no victor, no vanquished” in the contest.
Adeleke also extended an olive branch to his opponents, assuring them that he remained governor for all residents of the state.
“I am a member of all Osun State people,” he said, while outlining his vision of transforming Osun from a largely civil-service-dependent state into an industrial hub and investment destination.
The governor’s renewed development pledge comes as he begins preparations for a second term, with expectations mounting over the implementation of his Five-Point Agenda and the expansion of infrastructure, investment and economic opportunities across the state.
