A young boy, from an average home in a rough neighborhood in Auchi Sacred kingdom, an ancient town that is Located in Edo north now a metropolitan town, could have been Limited by this background No one would have thought that greatness would arise from such an environment.
Notwistanding, the young man was brilliant and dared to dream dreams bigger and higher than his Location just like your gifts will make room for you, his Exceptional performance in the highly Competitive primary school examination saw him admitted into our Lady of Fatima College Auchi.
An enlitiste institution meant only for the very best. This boy from Auchi Sacred kingdom without parental or Government Connections but with his brain and dream excelled, rather than study medicine Engineering he decided to attend PA Imoudu College of physical and health Education Afuze at Owan west local Government area Edo state at the college where he passed out in flying Colours, that was the first signal that Ahmed was set for greatness.
He acquired Various Degrees in Journalism in reputable Educational Institutions in Nigeria and Venture into Sports journalism where he excelled and his name became a household name in Nigeria Especially in the Sports writing fraternity.
He became a two time Chairman of SWAN in Edo state, and also a two time board member of Edo FA a position he held until his death.
Ahmed Was Elected National President of Sports writers Association of Nigeria, an affiliate of NUJ at an Election held on October 7, 2019 in Abuja , he was also the publisher of Afenmesan News Magazine a Community base News Magazine which Covers Edo north and Central respectively.
Ahmed was quick to forgive and cherished relationship he was happily married, he loves his siblings and family dearly.
In Auchi he used to organize grassroots Football tournament at Public field also known as Ikelebe sports Arena where over the years where Young Football talents have been discovered.
Many of them now play for various Football Clubs locally and International.
The success of Ahmed lies In his upward look while others look downward and lament problems, he looks up and provide solutions
Who was Ahmed looking up to? the answer his God Ahmed believe so much in God he will spend hours worshipping him as a Muslim, his good works and love for people borne out of his unwavering love for God .
Though he had an abundance of possessions, his focus was not earthly but how to make heaven.
When we normally spend time together when he was Alive he will say to me
” Shehu always give a helping hand to the needy, mostly the less privilege always stand for what is right even if it means standing alone, I am not afraid of death if I die today it is the will of God , which means my time has come to return to my Creator”.
Truely when the News later came that Ahmed had departed, I knew that my boss, and Mentor, and Confidant, Ahmed Aibgona as taking a bow to rest in the bossom of his Creator in heaven.
Surely we are from God and to him is our return
