A frontline All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship aspirant for Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area, Hon. Ikponmwosa Clement Aitusi, has commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for his foresight in initiating the one-kilometre flyover project at Ikpoba Hill, describing it as a transformative step toward decongesting traffic and modernising Benin City’s infrastructure.

Aitusi, who hails from Ikpoba Okha, said the local government was privileged to be the first beneficiary of such a landmark project under the Okpebholo administration. He lauded the governor’s early achievements in office, noting that his development-focused leadership had set a new benchmark for governance in Edo State.

“The quality and pace of work are impressive,” Aitusi said. “Edo is witnessing a first, and I believe more such projects should follow in Benin City to address heavy traffic. I commend Governor Okpebholo for insisting on concrete technology. Roads built with reinforced concrete last 50 to 100 years, saving scarce resources.”

He emphasised that the governor’s bold approach to road and bridge construction reflects the progressive ideals of the APC, and demonstrates his administration’s commitment to lasting development rather than cosmetic interventions.

The council aspirant further described the flyover as a landmark infrastructural intervention, saying it would ease urban mobility, attract investment, and strengthen the urban fabric of the state capital.

Aitusi urged residents to continue supporting Governor Okpebholo’s administration, assuring that the dividends of good governance being witnessed across the state were only the beginning of greater transformation to come.
