The First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Eno, has passed away. She died on Thursday, September 26, 2024, after a brief illness.
The news of her death was confirmed in an official statement released by the Akwa Ibom Government House on Friday, September 27, 2024.
The statement, signed by the State Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, expressed the deep sorrow of the state and confirmed that Mrs. Eno passed away in the presence of her husband, Governor Pastor Umo Eno, and other close family members.
The government conveyed its condolences to the family and asked for privacy as they mourn their loss. Plans for her burial will be announced in due course, the statement added.
Mrs. Patience Eno was known for her devout faith and active role in community welfare initiatives during her time as First Lady.
Her sudden death has left the people of Akwa Ibom in mourning, with an outpouring of tributes from across the state.
