Abuja – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called for the immediate arrest and investigation of Engr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections.
This demand follows Kwankwaso’s recent accusation that the Federal Government is involved in fostering Boko Haram insurgency in Kano.
In a statement released today, the APC described Kwankwaso’s claims as “baseless and inflammatory,” urging security agencies to take prompt action against the former governor of Kano State.
The ruling party emphasized the importance of maintaining national security and cautioned against statements that could incite public unrest or undermine the efforts of the government in combating terrorism.
“Engr. Rabiu Kwankwaso’s allegations are not only unfounded but also highly irresponsible. Such remarks have the potential to destabilize our nation and cast unwarranted aspersions on the government’s dedicated efforts to eradicate terrorism,” the statement read. “We call on the security agencies to arrest and thoroughly investigate him to ascertain the motives behind these dangerous assertions.”
