The Association of Proprietors of Private Media Establishments of Nigeria (APPMEN) has announced the inauguration of its Lagos State Council, with Princess Agbonifo appointed as State Coordinator and Onome Naomi Onojaefe as Public Secretary.

The inauguration is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 11am at No. 133 Idimu-Ejigbo Road, adjacent Christ Land School, Alimosho, Lagos State.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, the National Coordinator of APPMEN, Chief Precious Enebuse, said the appointments followed a careful screening process by the National Working Committee.

Agbonifo, a media entrepreneur and proprietor of a private media establishment in Lagos, is expected to coordinate the activities of private media proprietors across the state, drive membership and champion the interests of private media establishments.

Onojaefe, appointed Public Secretary, will serve as the official spokesperson of the Lagos State Council and oversee its publicity and communications activities.

APPMEN said other members of the Lagos State Executive Council would be announced and inaugurated during the October 10 ceremony.

Enebuse described Lagos as Nigeria’s media capital, noting that the state hosts more than 60 per cent of the country’s private media establishments.

He expressed confidence in the capacity of the newly appointed officials to build a strong and effective council.

“Princess Agbonifo has shown capacity, commitment and leadership. We are confident she will deliver and build a formidable Lagos Council that will be the pride of APPMEN,” Enebuse said.
