The Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu, has built and furnished two bungalows for his personal drivers. The bungalows are located at Ute, Umagbae South, Uhunmwonde LGA, and consist of a 3-bedroom and 4-bedroom unit respectively.
The Deputy Governor commissioned the buildings himself and expressed that it is his responsibility to appreciate and recognize the hard work and loyalty of his employees.
He said: “This is part of my responsibilities to appreciate my workers. I have started building houses for my drivers and I have just commissioned two, for Ayo Momodu and Jonathan Orukpe .”
“This is just my way of appreciating them for their dedication and loyalty since 2007 when they have been with me. I am happy that they are now landlords.”
Uptown Press learned that, the two drivers who received these bungalows, Ayo Momodu and Jonathan Orukpe, have been with the Deputy Governor since 2007, and he wanted to show his appreciation for their unwavering dedication.
Both drivers are now proud landlords, and their gratitude towards the Deputy Governor was evident in their separate remarks. They described the gesture as one of the most significant gifts one can render to humanity.
Jonathan Orukpe is from Ewohimi in Esan, while Ayo Momodu hails from Etsako West Local Government Area of the state. The Deputy Governor’s act of kindness towards his drivers is commendable and sets an excellent example of leadership. It’s a heart-warming reminder of the impact of appreciation and recognition towards employees, which can go a long way in building loyalty and dedication in the workplace.
