The lecturers want 100% payment before they can resume work and that was what federal government promised them in their last meeting.
NAPS president, Comrade Benedict Olalere Have appealed to ASUP to call off the Nationwide strike since the federal government has shown a concern by paying a certain percentage
“we beseech the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) to have a shift of ground to call for the end of the strike. Without doubt, partial obedience is equivalent to total disobedience, yet the ASUP should consider the polytechnic students, as a father, mother, teacher and custodian of nation’s development and call-off the on-going strike.
Although, there is no excuse for not fulfulling the promise by the Federal Government, yet ASUP should consider the state of the economy, Pandemic Effect and others notable factors and shift to students favourable ground, we didn’t stage Protest because we have solid Information about the agreement between the Federal Government and the ASUP National, but if the Strike is not Call Off between now and Monday morning, the Leadership of National Association Of Polytechnic Students ( NAPS) will take a Position Against both Federal Government and ASUP.
