Benin City – Hon. Osamwonyi Evbaguehita Atu, the member representing Orhionmwon East Constituency and Minority Leader at the Edo State House of Assembly, has firmly debunked rumors suggesting that he is contemplating defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a press statement released by his media team, Atu categorically denied any intentions of leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He urged the public and party members to disregard the false news circulating about his potential defection.
“In putting the records straight, let me state that I have no intention of leaving our great party, the APC, for another party nor working for any other candidate apart from our very distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo and Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa,” the statement read.
Atu emphasized his unwavering loyalty to the APC and clarified that he has no reason to consider leaving the party. “People should stop spreading false news that I am planning or working with another party. I am still a member of the APC,” he asserted.
Acknowledging the recent internal crisis within the Orhionmwon Local Government Chapter of the APC, Atu noted that the disagreements have been resolved. He assured that the party members are now working in unison towards their common goals.
Atu’s statement aims to put to rest any speculation about his political allegiance and reinforce the stability and unity within the APC in Edo State.
