A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Kehinde Subair, has passed away in the United Kingdom.
Reports indicate that Subair, who served two terms in the Oyo Assembly from 2011 to 2019, died shortly after breaking his Ramadan fast. His death comes just a week before his 60th birthday.
A senior APC member in Oyo State, speaking anonymously, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, stating, “Subair’s passing is a great loss to the party. He was a dedicated leader who played a crucial role in shaping the APC in the state.”
Confirming the news, the APC Publicity Secretary in Oyo State, Wale Sadare, said, “Yes, he has passed away. However, I am unable to provide further details at this moment.”
Subair was a respected political figure within the APC, having held various leadership roles both within the party and as an elected official. His contributions to governance in Oyo State, particularly during his tenure as Majority Leader, were widely recognised.
His passing has been met with an outpouring of tributes from political associates and supporters who remember him as a committed and principled politician.
