Lagos – Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky or the ‘Mummy of Lagos,’ was released from prison on Monday morning, igniting a viral wave of celebration among her fans.
In widely circulated footage, Bobrisky was seen leaving the prison in a luxury car, accompanied by two friends, all enjoying the song “Tshwala Bam” by TiTom and Yuppe.

Bobrisky’s release follows a six-month prison sentence handed down by Lagos High Court Judge Abimbola Awogboro on April 12 for abusing the naira. The sentence, which began on March 24, did not allow for an option of a fine. In April, Bobrisky appealed the sentence, seeking to replace it with an option of a N50,000 fine per count of naira abuse.
