Popular Nigerian social media influencer and crossdresser, Bobrisky, has hinted at a permanent exit from Nigeria. The flamboyant personality, known for breaking societal norms and amassing a massive online following, left the country on November 11 following a contentious encounter with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Nigerian Immigration officers.
The departure comes after Bobrisky found himself at the centre of a legal showdown with the EFCC, which has been investigating him for alleged financial irregularities. The confrontation escalated when Immigration officials detained him, prompting concerns among his fans and the LGBTQ+ community in Nigeria about his safety and future in the country.
Yesterday, Bobrisky took to his Instagram page to share a series of poignant photos, sparking widespread speculation about his intentions. Among the flood of supportive comments, one follower poignantly requested his return to Nigeria, expressing how much he is missed by his audience.
In response, Bobrisky addressed the growing rumours in a recent Instagram Live session, stating, “The decision to leave Nigeria was not made lightly. Due to the mounting legal pressures and the lack of a safe environment for someone like me, I may not be returning anytime soon.”
He further elaborated on the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community in Nigeria, highlighting the need for a more accepting and supportive society.
