British-Nigerian businessman and social media influencer Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, also known as Denisi or Ego, has died after undergoing a penis enlargement procedure during a luxury holiday in Thailand with his wife.
Ubiribo, 43, reportedly had 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine injected into his penis at a clinic in Bangkok in March, according to evidence presented at an inquest at Inner West London Coroners’ Court.
Shortly after the procedure, Ubiribo and his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, reportedly went for a massage, where he complained of chest pain before collapsing twice.
He was subsequently rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with a pulmonary embolism — a potentially fatal blood clot blocking an artery in the lungs.
Medical personnel reportedly performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation for more than 100 minutes in an effort to save his life. However, Ubiribo died in the early hours of March 6.
A postmortem examination conducted in the UK reportedly found cellular material in his lungs matching the hyaluronic acid used during the cosmetic procedure.
Coroner Jean Harkin subsequently ruled that Ubiribo died from a pulmonary embolism caused by the cosmetic procedure.
The death has drawn attention to the potential dangers associated with cosmetic procedures, particularly when complications occur far from the patient’s home country.
Ubiribo, who had about 185,000 followers on Instagram, was known for his lavish lifestyle and high-profile social circle.
His funeral was held in London, where he was reportedly buried in a $745,000 gold coffin. Nigerian entertainment figures, including music star Davido and celebrity socialite Cubana Chief Priest, were among those who attended the funeral.
