Rose Idibia, the mother of famous Nigerian singer Innocent ‘2Face’ Idibia, has made a public plea for assistance from Nigerians to intervene in her son’s current personal struggles. In a heartfelt video shared widely on Thursday evening, Mrs. Idibia called on Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru, to “leave her son alone.”
The emotional appeal comes amidst ongoing divorce proceedings between 2Face and his wife, Annie Idibia. Mrs. Idibia expressed concern that her son is not in a stable mental state due to the stress of the separation, imploring the public to understand the difficult situation he is facing.
“My name is Mrs. Rose Idibia, and I am the mother of 2Face. This message is directed to Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State,” she said in the video. “I am calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son. My son is going through a divorce process, and it’s clear he is not in his right mind right now. That is not my son.”
In her emotional appeal, Mrs. Idibia specifically addressed Osawaru, urging her to remove the symbolic beads that have reportedly been placed on the singer’s wrists and neck. “Please, Natasha, remove the beads from his hands and neck. Free him,” she pleaded.
The video, which has since gone viral, also featured footage of 2Face proposing to Osawaru, further fuelling speculation about the nature of their relationship.
Osawaru, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was elected to the Edo State House of Assembly in April 2023, representing the Egor Constituency. Hailing from the Egor Local Government Area, her personal life has come under scrutiny following the recent developments surrounding 2Face.
