Media personality Noble Igwe has ignited conversations on social media after recounting a controversial discussion he overheard among three men during breakfast in Enugu State.
Sharing the encounter on Saturday, Igwe said he caught snippets of the conversation, which centred on marriage, social media and relationships.
According to him, one of the men advised the others to ensure they delete every social media application from their wives’ phones immediately after marriage.
“When you marry, delete every social media app from your wife’s phone,” the man reportedly said.
Further details obtained by this online newspaper reveal that another member of the group blamed women in their 30s for allegedly encouraging married women to leave their husbands.
The third man reportedly claimed that “small boys” were having affairs with married women, describing the trend as one of the challenges affecting marriages.
Igwe’s revelation has since triggered mixed reactions online, with many social media users debating the men’s views on marriage, trust and the influence of social media on relationships.
While some users argued that social media contributes to marital conflicts, others criticised the comments as misogynistic, insisting that healthy marriages should be built on mutual trust rather than restrictions.
