The Delta State Government has dismissed widespread social media reports claiming that former Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, is dead.
The government described the reports as false, misleading and the handiwork of purveyors of fake news seeking to cause panic among residents and the public.
Reacting to the viral claims, state authorities urged members of the public to disregard the information, insisting that the former governor is alive and well.
The government also cautioned social media users against spreading unverified information, noting that such rumours can create unnecessary anxiety and emotional distress for families, friends and associates of those targeted.
The clarification comes after reports of Uduaghan’s alleged death circulated across several social media platforms, triggering widespread reactions and concern among Delta residents and political stakeholders.
