The Spiritual Leader and General Overseer of Jesus Freedom Covenant Ministry, Ovbiogie, Ambassador Bishop Dr Lucky Omonabiese Ahevboria, has urged Nigerians to use the Democracy Day celebration as a platform to promote national unity, love and peaceful coexistence.
Speaking on the significance of the annual celebration, Bishop Ahevboria said Democracy Day should remind citizens that despite differences in ethnicity, religion and political affiliation, Nigerians remain one people bound by a common destiny.
The cleric, fondly known as “Ororo” by his admirers, called on Nigerians to shun divisive tendencies and embrace one another across the country’s various geopolitical zones.
He also expressed deep concern over the worsening security situation in the country, lamenting the continued wave of killings and violent attacks in several communities.
According to him, the level of bloodshed across the nation is disturbing, especially as Nigeria is not officially at war.
Bishop Ahevboria appealed to security agencies to redouble their efforts in tackling insecurity and safeguarding the lives and property of citizens.
He further urged Nigerians to seek divine intervention through prayers, stressing that God remains the ultimate source of peace, protection and national stability.
The man of God called on leaders and citizens alike to work together in building a united, secure and prosperous Nigeria where peace and justice reign supreme.
