D’Prince Builders has disclosed that more than 50,000 tenants have been empowered to become landlords since the company commenced operations in 2007, a testament to its growing footprint in Nigeria’s real estate sector.
The Group Managing Director of D’Prince Builders and Chairman of the Association of Real Estate Developers (ARED), Edo State, Engr. Cyril Omoregie, made the disclosure on Wednesday while hosting diaspora clients who returned to the country to inspect properties they purchased while abroad.
The visiting customers, who arrived from Norway, London, Manchester and other European cities, were conducted on a tour of the company’s estate at Rubber Research Road, off Sapele Road, Uhie Community, Benin City. Omoregie reassured them that customer satisfaction remains a core priority of the company.
Speaking during the tour, Omoregie expressed appreciation to the European-based subscribers for the confidence they placed in the company, despite purchasing their plots remotely.
“I want to thank all our clients from Europe — from Norway, Italy, Paris, and the UK, including London, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow. Everything I said during our UK and Europe tours is what you are seeing today,” he said.
He noted that many of the subscribers acquired their plots online through social media platforms, even while he was on promotional tours abroad.
“Today, they are here to see their property, and I say congratulations to them. You can see the smiles on their faces. They are happy with what they have seen,” Omoregie added.
According to him, the Prince Vida City estate offers flexible instalment payment options, making home ownership accessible to more Nigerians, including those in the diaspora.
“These plots of land are available on instalment plans. You can pay gradually and become a landlord,” he said.
Omoregie disclosed that the company has concluded plans to provide full infrastructure within the estate, including steady power supply, paved internal roads, effective drainage systems and robust security.
“We have the Nigerian Police Force stationed at the estate gate. Security here is 100 per cent assured,” he stated.
He further explained that all necessary documentation, including Certificates of Occupancy (C of O), deeds of assignment, transfer documents and survey plans, are provided to subscribers.
On land use, Omoregie said the estate is divided into residential and commercial plots.
“The residential plots are for bungalows and duplexes, while the commercial plots are designated for shopping malls, petrol stations, event centres, clubs, schools and other businesses. These commercial plots are designed to give investors strong returns on investment,” he explained.
He disclosed that plots currently sell for ₦7.5 million, adding that the estate is projected to accommodate about 2,000 occupants upon completion.
“We have subscribers from the UK, the US, Europe and other parts of the world. Some of them are here today, and they are pleased with what they have seen,” he said.
Omoregie also revealed that D’Prince Builders is aligning its operations with the SHINE Agenda of Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, particularly in the area of affordable housing for Edo indigenes.
“We are looking at a three-year development plan where everything in this estate will be completed and fully functional. We are working in line with the government’s vision and future infrastructure plans to make this estate comfortable and conducive,” he noted.
One of the diaspora subscribers, Ms Happy Igbineweka, who travelled from London, expressed satisfaction after inspecting her property.
“I am very satisfied. When I paid from abroad, I got exactly what I was promised,” she said.
