On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the Executive Chairman of Oredo Local Government Council, Dr. Tom Obaseki, undertook a guided inspection tour of several on-going infrastructural projects within the community.
The projects under review included the renovation of Ogbe Primary School, the rehabilitation and landscaping of Ore-Oghene Primary School, and the construction of Victor Avenue/Omoruyi Street, Oguola and Erhunmwuse Streets, as well as the Azama Community Road.
During the tour, Dr. Obaseki was welcomed by the headmistress of Ore-Oghene Primary School, Mrs. Ogbemudia Helen, and the Chairman of the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). Both expressed their gratitude for the transformation of the school.
Mrs. Helen commended the chairman for the renovation, noting that the improved school environment will enhance the learning experience for the pupils.
On Omoruyi Street, Pastor Desmond Idegor, a community leader, praised the chairman’s efforts. He remarked that the road, which had been in a dilapidated state for years, was finally receiving much-needed attention.
Pastor Idegor urged other local government chairmen to follow Dr. Obaseki’s example, emphasising that such development projects would spur growth in the area.
Speaking at the end of the tour, Dr. Obaseki expressed his satisfaction with the progress and quality of work despite challenges caused by adverse weather conditions.
He highlighted the importance of the infrastructural updates, stating that they would significantly improve the lives of Oredo residents.
“We are just getting started,” he said. “The people of Oredo deserve the best, and in the next three to four weeks, these projects will be fully delivered.”
