The Democracy Watch Initiative (DWI) has urged former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, to face the law amid ongoing investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Department of State Services (DSS).
El-Rufai reportedly accessed the communications of the National Security Adviser (NSA), an action DWI says violates national security laws and breaches public trust.
DWI criticized attempts to shift public attention from the allegations, stressing that no one is above the law, regardless of rank or former position. The group also called on authorities to conduct the investigation promptly and without interference, while maintaining the integrity of national institutions.
“Truthfulness and integrity are essential for a secure and democratic Nigeria,” DWI said, urging El-Rufai to answer all questions regarding his actions.
