The Edo State House of Assembly is currently facing a challenging situation. Members of the assembly are reportedly experiencing fear and anxiety following a supposed juju scare.
This was caused by a strange bowl filled with fetish materials that was placed in the car lot where the deputy speaker of the House, Hon. Maria Edeko, typically parks her car inside the House of Assembly Complex in Benin City’s city center.
According to a source within the Assembly, suspicion is on one of the Principal Officers of the House (whose name has been withheld) who allegedly visited the assembly complex around midnight on Monday. The offending fetish material was eventually removed by some Islamic clerics.
However, some stakeholders are not satisfied with the way the matter is being handled by a section of the lawmakers, who have been evasive in taking steps to address the situation.
