At a press briefing on Friday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, Governor Godwin Obaseki reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring a fair, equitable, and inclusive governorship election in 2024.
He emphasized that he has no favoured candidate and that the selection process should prioritize these values to keep Edo as one.
Additionally, Obaseki noted that his administration is focused on completing all ongoing projects before the election.
The governor said, he believes that this is the only potential issue and is determined to finish strong and fulfill all promises made to the people of Edo State during his campaign.
“It is not in my place to now determine, appoint or anoint any successor but all I know is that in the process of seeking my successor, there must be fairness, equity, and a sense of inclusion because our goal is to keep Edo as one.”
