… brainstorm on roadmap to ensure victory
As the Edo Governorship Election slated for September 21 is fast approaching, the State Deputy Governor, Engr Godwins Marvellous Omobayo, on Sunday held a consultative meeting with leaders and stakeholders of PDP from across Akoko-Edo Local Government Area.
The meeting which held at the Akoko-Edo Council Secretariat in Igarra also had in attendance, some prominent and key leaders of the opposition parties, who have pledged allegiance to PDP and work for the victory of the umbrella party at the polls.
Addressing Journalists shortly after the meeting, Edo State Deputy Governor, Engr Godwins Marvellous Omobayo, said it was a gathering of leaders and stakeholders of the PDP in Akoko-Edo, to brainstorm and map out strategies to ensure the overwhelming victory in the governorship election.
He revealed that so much work was being done underground in order to deliver Akoko-Edo to the PDP and its standard bearer, Dr Asue lghodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie in the governorship election.
Omobayo stated that plans were being perfected to formally receive decampees from other opposition parties into the PDP.
According to him: “by the time campaign starts proper, it will be obvious to all that PDP is the party to beat”.
Also speaking, Hon Tajudeen Alade, Chairman, Akoko-Edo Local Government, said the essence of the meeting was to harmonize positions and come up with modalities to guarantee victory for the PDP”.
Some of the former opposition parties leaders who have since pledged their support to the PDP were unanimous in their commitment to join forces with others to guarantee total victory for Asue lghodalo and Osarodion Ogie.
