The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Monday Okpebholo, praising his steadfast leadership, dedication, and commitment to repositioning the party and advancing the progress of the State.
Also commended were the State APC Chairman, Emperor Jarret Tenebe, and the State Secretary, Engr. Lawrence Okah, for their roles in sustaining party unity and strengthening internal structures.
The decision was contained in a communiqué issued after a meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) held at the weekend. The statement, signed by the party’s spokesperson, Barr. Peter Uwadiae-Igbinigie, said the committee deliberated on issues affecting the smooth running and cohesion of the party across Edo State.
According to the statement, the party lifted the suspension of Hon. Valentine Asue and Mrs. Stella Ogbetta, the Woman Leader of Oredo Ward 10. However, the suspension of Mallam Adamu Ototobor, Chairman of Ward 9, Etsako East Local Government Area, remains in force until further notice.
“The SWC advises all members to remain law-abiding and committed to the principles and discipline of the party pending further directives,” the statement read.
It added: “A vote of implicit confidence was unanimously passed on the Governor of Edo State, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo; the State Chairman, Emperor Jarret Tenebe; and the State Secretary, Engr. Lawrence Okah, for their steadfast leadership and remarkable efforts in repositioning the party and advancing the progress of Edo State.”
