The Edo State House of Assembly member representing Orhionmwon South Constituency, Hon. Bright Aitenguoba Iyamu, has initiated an empowerment programme for his constituents. The programme has provided over 200 constituency members with point of sale (POS) terminals, empowering them to conduct transactions easily and grow their businesses.
The Hon. Bright Iyamu Pay Point Empowerment Scheme has been well-received by the beneficiaries, who expressed their gratitude for the initiative. The beneficiaries are excited about the prospect of conducting transactions with ease, which would help grow their businesses. The scheme is expected to boost the local economy and improve the standard of living for the people of Orhionmwon South Constituency.
Additionally, the empowerment programme has extended to schools in the Constituency, where branded exercise books were distributed to indigent students. The initiative is expected to enhance the quality of education in Orhionmwon Local Government Area.
Iguododo Primary School, Eghosasere Primary School, and Umagbea Primary School were among the schools that benefited from Hon. Iyamu’s empowerment scheme. The students, teachers, Edionweres, and Enigies all appreciated Hon. Bright Iyamu’s laudable initiative and support for the education sector.
Hon. Bright Iyamu’s empowerment programme has received widespread support from dignitaries in the area. Notable personalities such as Enogie of Ugo Niyekeorhionmwon, HRH Edugie Ogierhiakhi Ogiuogo, Lady Uwa Osunbor SA to the Governor on Political Affairs, Prince Stanley Iduozee, PDP Chairman Orhionmwon, Amb. Wesley Asoro, and Hon. Frank Omosigho EDHA Member representing Oredo East Constituency graced the event to support the initiative.
In his remark, Hon. Iyamu said, “I want the best for the good people of Orhionmwon. That was what motivated me to come up with this “POS pay point empowerment scheme.” People will no longer have to go far before doing their financial transactions.
“The primary goal is to make sure that every village in Orhionmwon has at least one POS pay point machine. It will make the people have access to funds, it is a start up point for them and before you know it Orhionmwon will become a Bee hive of commercial activities.
“I urge every one that benefitted from this empowerment scheme to be proactive and focus on their business, so that tomorrow I will be proud that this POS empowerment scheme did not just go to waste but was able to impart lives positively.”
